each of apperance looks a seed of Japanese persimmons and then named 'Kaki-no-tane'
Natoooo BreakfastSome might not like Natoo, because of its powerful flavor and looks sticky and even feels so when you have, but it is still popular food. Currently I can see several brans with less flavored Natoo in grocery stores. Honestly I do not like Natoo so much.. then my mom used to cooking this receipt when I was a little girl. The scramble egg is sweet and it is my family's taste.

I cannot just drop by and get it.. At this day, mom's friend called the shop and asked to make 6 pieces in each box and she got toal three boxes. It's all for her friends for New Year's greetings. Lucky me. It is one of my Favortite wagashi!! Inside is fresh big strawberry and covered with thin soft sticky rice cake, which called 'mochi' in here. It looks very simple 'wagashi' but very TASTEFUL ! 'A Strawberry Drop' Uma Uma Note When I came back to in Japan, I found a book displayed on the table at the entrance. It was placed right next to a flower vase at family's restaurant. It's photo essay written by Muroi-san. A famous actress often comes to dad's restaurant. She has written already several type of books. For the first time, she put some pictures of the restaurants and comments about each dish too. She has written about dad as well as before she did but this time the book contains many of pictures, which was a surprise at the day just after arriving at his restarurant. Good Fortune to comeIt took us 30 minitues to get the shrine by train. It's good to leave home before noon, because there were MANY people coming to celebrate new year, when we were coming back to the station. Everyone stuck on the street before coming through the main gate. They know they would not walk forward easily, especially on the New Year's Day. Even so, many people visit shrine and make a long lineup. Although it is quite cold outdie:) Currently it became more like anuual family lesure on New Year's days. I want to see a picture of what it looks like by sattelite up the sky. To me it feels very Fun :) Happy New Year ! Finally I got internet connection again. Now I was back in Tokyo. On New years day, we have usually 'Ozouni' at breakfast table. Ozouni is one of special new years dish and most of family have it on New Year's Day. My family is from Kagawa prefecture in Shikoku. Even in Japan, this style of Ozouni is rarely kown for everyone. Eventually nowadays, I can see the Kagawa style Ozouni in several food magazines. It is used 'Shiro-Miso' which means White Miso, and 'Anko-Mochi' which means sticky rice with sweet paste beans and only two kinds of vegetable, carrots and Japanese raddish. At the end of the year, my mom always asks a relative to send the Anko-mochi for new year's day. This style of Ozouni is always used Anko-mochi, not regular sticky rice. It is very unique and rare in Japan. And the carrots should be Kyou-Ninjin, which is sweeter than other kinds of carrots and is grown in Kansai area. I was so happy to have Ozouni this year :) Soveling snowBarb found herself had dropped her font door key somewhere yesterday morning. So I gave her my key and she rushed for work.. she would be back home around 6:30pm, she said. After having seen my friend, I went to my friend's house to wait for Barb's call. It was pretty cold outside yesterday. We might have White Christmas in Vancouver. As the forecast said, it started to snow from the evening. And then, It is still snowing..veery much. it looks like never stopping.. I had a plan morning so went back to my home and I took this picture from my room. I have only 10 more days before I go! European Hot pancakesso, as i was picturing it in the seat of flight, when i was flying to Canada, now it really got to real.. i knew i could get a job in there but i had been wondering if i should fit into the new country's situation where i was going to settled in. and then i was thinking that i might be working somewhere i really like/would be able to enjoy. since i was a little girl, i was being in dad's kitchen, pretending his cooking, playing flours next to him. i liked watching the cooking process my parents does. as i get older, i started imitating his work in the kitchen. it is my very familiar place and now the kitchen I am working at now became bigger and even international here. i remember i knew it before coming in ca, so then it brought me to come in the big kitchen. um, everyday so many things have happened, it always lots of laughters. i should i live life i Love.:) what's Jamaican food? Thanks to Anne, I found another interesting restaurant around our neighborhood and went for brunch-lunch last weekend.
