European Hot pancakes

so, as i was picturing it in the seat of flight, when i was flying to Canada, now it really got to real. i knew i can get a job but i had been wondering i should fit into the country's situation where i was going to settled in. and then i was thinking that i might be working somewhere i like. since i was little baby, i used to being in dad's kitchen. as i get older, i started imitating his work, when he cooked dishes in the restaurant. it is my very familiar place in my life and now the kitchen became bigger and international in here. i think i knew it, so then it made me to come in the big kitchen. everyday so many things have happened around me, which always brings me lots of laughter and smiles..! i put on the white uniform like a chef. i should i live life i love.:)

what's Jamaican food?

Thanks to Anne, I found another interesting restaurant around our neighborhood and went for brunch-lunch last weekend. There are still many stores and restaurants that I hadn't ever been since I moved in this place. I liked my neighborhood more and more!:) We were supposed to come in Crave but my friend got interested in Jamaican food more and then we decided to have brunch there. BTW..what's Jamaican food...?? We just wondered what's typical materials in their dishes??? hmmm

Baked Cheese Cake !

Simple and little low calorie cheese cake. This is non-use creamy cream but it's very tasty!:) I use blender so that you don't have to be prepared for many sweets dishes and tools.

1. take out cream cheese (250g) from fridge and get it room tempreture
2. put in blender; cream cheese, milk (250g), flour(tbsp4), sugar(tbsp5), lemon juice(tbsp1)
3. pour the mixed cheese cream juice into baking bowls

Kakiage - deep fried veggies

my new roommate told barbala and me that she brought good japanese noodle 'soba' from Japan. And then i decided to make 'kakiage' for the night supper for us. it is really good side-dish with when you eat soba/udon. This day i used several kinds of veggies that i stocked in my fridge. My recipe is always easy cooking but Barbra loves it :)

1. chop onions, carrots
2. mix one egg, add some flour and cold water
3. add cut vegetables, sweet corns and some seafood
4. put in no.2 bowl
5. scoop in a spoon, deep fry until cooked
6. place cooked 'kakiage' on kitchen papers and absorb oil
7. sprinkle solt

Cheap Chips - Non-Fried Low caroly !

* Slice sweet potatoes and soak in water
* dry off sliced potatoes (can use kitchen paper or dry in a day completely)
* Place cooking paper in plate of microwave
* Put dry potatoes as many as you can put in the plate

Sakura and Chocolate Fondue

the weather is pretty nice outside today but i just wanted to be at home, doing a lot of things i have been wanting to do for last these days! and then i found some pictures i have forgotten updating in here. we went to Mink for weekends cafe. my friends K love the Mink chocolate and told me there is chocolate fondue place in the place. i remembered Hilton's afternoon tea in Tokyo. i know it is very very good! and i agreed right aways when she suggested it. fortunately, in front of the shop there are several cherry blossoms and it full bloomed at the time. i think the trees are same kind of sakura trees blooming in Japan.

Rainbows again

Last weekend was jose's barthday party. he became 2 years old, cute and smart monster.:) and then when we were chatting in the living room, i don't know why..again, i felt something different and looked outside. "Rainbows!" i can't stand telling to them so i shouted out to all and pointed outside...! from his bay window, rainbow's stretching up to the sky. i doubted my eyes.. but it is again! so far, i have already seen twice rainbows at vancouver. it's cool, isn't it?

Yaki Onigiri Day

this receipe is from my mom's original. she often makes this only for customers she is very familiar with in the restaurant. i used to watch it when dad and mom cooked it and always standing in front of oven in the kitchen. it's just because it needs spreading a little portion of soy sauce with kitchen brush little by little and then it becomes nice brown in oven gradually. Smells Very very good. flavored crispy rice balls. so it takes some time until cooked well but worth to try. get prepared a kitchen brush! you can also use the back of table spoon instead. well, this time i was lack of white japanese rice and cooked with a brown rice. i see that i can't recommend to use it. it's a little too dry. if you cook brown rice, put some dice of butter in pan, or you cannot make rice balls in hands.

Handcrafted - Osyuuji for birthday

when i am doing 'osyuu-ji', it makes me feel relaxed and it even feels like meditation or something. my friends and i used to talk about it, why it can be stress-refreshing. it's just because you can only concentrate on drawing something creative which leads your brain breathe for only ONE thing. everyday unconsciously we are overwhelmed by a huge amount of information. so our brain is working in the restless waves.. to me, only keeping my eyes away from computer display for a time works
well..sometimes Very well*

so many things to tell

it has been long since i have felt like so many things has faced in front of me..and kept changing every moment like a roller coaster!! what makes me keep busy with, i wonder. so, now there are a lot of pictures that I should update for my space. yeah, I have been just collecting in my memory stick. lazy me ..:) first of all, how do you call this chinese sweets? I found it in a mall close to my friend house. I hear that this one is very very famous sweets bowl in China. I have found one of canned stuff in chinese store but it wasn't so good.. so I definitely go back to the same place to have this yummy sweet bowl next time again :)

Hot Clam Chowder !

I did remember there is still one big big onion in fridge. I have been wanting using it for a cook, and then decided make it for two recipe for my lunch appetite. Half is going to be currey flavored sauce, and another half is for the soup. It was very interesting, there was Satsuma-age in here too.."deep fried fish & veg pancake"..so I picked up the package, it's also still in freezer. then as always, I made my left-over receipe.:-)

Walking of the Day!

Finally, I had a reaxing Sunday evening today. It's been a while since I last updated my space.. well well well, I got new job here, started working a couple weeks ago. YES, I am back to office work from last month. And the last friday was my last day at Splendour. Thankfully, Jerry is vrey much understanding, he allowed me to continue working at the coffee shop and Mary was also looked very happy. I had never expected it would work but in real, it happened! And I am happy to have this change to work with Mary, she is also cool woman, who works hard with lots of energy and she is untiring I never see she is saying 'tired' during the work. So I always feel that she is like my mom. My mom is also pretty cool.. I can't believe their passion for the work, always wondring where it is coming from..? She always smiles, so does Mary. I know that's why everyone drops by the shop and say hi to her. I want to spend my sinior times as well as they do. Very Cool ladies.

I kept myself busy with work for last these couple fo weeks. I always remember I should be keep the moment whenever I bumpted into things I like. I might tell you before, the spring is just around the corner here. I found there are some Sakura trees in my neighbourhood as well. They look like fluffy round sponge..than ones in Japan..um

Cooked Samon & Enoki rice

It has been nice weather last couple of weeks. Racheal and me went to English bay, taking a walk along the coast path. Here it is more relaxing environment, though it is only a few blocks away from downtown area. Of course, we got an starbuck coffee close to the area, honestly speaking i want to try to find another coffee shops tho..cos Starbucks everywhere..we find one or two more in a block, and more stores are around the corner..! it's more easy to find than ones in Japan! so-oh many ...

I will give you my Rainbow it's Twins!

So the last day aftenoon at the apartment, i felt it a different lights were coming in my bedroom. And saw this. it's just right there from our building. (to me, first ever Rainbow in vancouver!) I was so excited and took some pictures before it's gone in the air. I saw in Maui, unexpectedly several times and it has been almost 7 years or more passed since that time. And in here, i have never expected we could have rainbow day in this city but i happend to see it again and it is even double rainbows (Twin!:), one is very very bright colour which i noticed then and another was in right pallarelled that one..LOOK at This! Rainbows in the City :) now you see the edge of rainbow. I took a video then as well, so will update it soon.

we gonna miss you !

How many times have I gone through that moments since I last stayed in here. My coworkers, my friends, I have seen everyone come and go in the world. Once we meet and greet say hi, and then soon, there is always Good-byes at the end. I know how the world has become smaller because of the smart technologies, even so, it always makes me emotional whenever saying good-byes to my friends. but now that I know that we will be able to see again and again(through my experience!) when the time comes btween two of us. I believe there is always some reason to meet someone new in my life. Yea, this might sound strange, I know it's kinda spritual thing* but when you meet new people, it's not just a coincidence, it's because you hit the right time to meet someone you would need to meet them. who knows what is next..but i know we can meet again. thanks for the text Jimmy. Keep in Touch! :)
